Peterborough Pride

Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Pride started as a parade in 2003, and celebrations have expanded with more events, a bigger parade, park event, performances, workshops and dances. Although called Pride Week, events now cover more than a week and the celebration is a cornerstone opportunity for the community to gather and express itself publicly.

Pflag Peterborough provides support, education, and resources on issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. They offer monthly meetups to connect with others, make new friends, and seek peer-to-peer support. They will help you find additional resources in Peterborough and area when you have questions, feel alone, or need someone with whom to talk.

Pflag Canada is a national organization that offers peer-to-peer support striving to help all Canadians with issues of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. They have a list of resources for 2SLGBTQ+ people and their support circle.
LGBT Youthline

LGBT YouthLine is a Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit youth-led organization that affirms and supports the experiences of youth (29 and under) across Ontario. They do this by: providing anonymous peer support and referrals; training youth to provide support to other youth; and providing resources so youth can make informed decisions.

The CMHA HKPR Trans Peer Outreach team creates, coordinates and delivers programs for trans and gender diverse individuals, as well as for family and partners. CMHA HKPR provides: information, opportunities and support services for people who identify as trans or gender diverse support programs for families, friends and partners of trans and gender non-conforming people resources, workshops and educational opportunities to service organizations, professionals, allies and communities that make up the Four Counties who want knowledge and connection to support.
PARN

PARN (Peterborough AIDS Resource Network) is a community-based agency providing support, health promotion and advocacy for people HIV-infected and HIV-affected. PARN provides education for people at risk for HIV and awareness of AIDS issues to the broader community.
Rainbow Youth Peterborough

The Rainbow Youth Program works to make lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, 2-spirit, queer and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth (aged 13-23 yrs.) feel safe, included, and empowered in Peterborough and the four counties. They give LGBTQ+ youth the space to be themselves and the tools to lead positive change in their schools, peer groups, and community.
Peterborough Public Health - Sexual Health Clinic

The Sexual Health Clinic offers free, confidential clinics staffed by nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians providing: pregnancy testing and birth control for teens and young adults; emergency contraception (morning after pill); testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI), including confidential HIV testing, for anyone in the community; and help with decisions about sex.
Trent Queer Collective (TQC)

TQC exists to provide a safe space, resources, and social opportunities for queer students and their allies at Trent University in Peterborough. They strive to challenge all types of queer phobia at Trent University and in the Peterborough community through education and political action.
